Who is this course for

The Practice Mentoring Course is for anyone seeking to develop and enhance their skills in mentoring, supporting and assessing a student, intern, volunteer or junior member of staff within their own Organisation or externally. The course will provide facilitate professional development and career progression and enhance the scope of practice available to you.

The course is also useful for those seeking progression in their careers.

What do I need to complete the course?

The PMC is delivered 100% online which enables learners to work at different times and at a pace that is comfortable for them.

To complete PMC 004, learners will need to identify and work with a student, intern, volunteer or member of staff.

Support for Learners

You will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. This typically will involve reading journal articles and books, accessing YouTube videos and other multimedia resources.

Aim of the Course

The main aim of the PMC is to aim to prepare learners to provide support and education to students, interns, volunteers and staff to improve their professional practice.

Course Structure

The full PMC is made up of 5 modules as follows with Introductory content which gauges your readiness to undertake the course. The introduction is FREE but can only be accessed with a purchase and enrolment of one or more modules within the PMC

Introduction to the Course (1 hour)

Certification

The PMC is designed with the busy practitioner in mind and so for every module completed, there is a Certificate of Completion for the specific module.  On completion of all 5 modules, a certificate in Practice Mentorship will be awarded.

These certificates are electronic and can be printed or saved on your computer.

This course is accredited by CPD, England.

Duration

The PMC takes a minimum of 26 hours to complete, however it is acknowledged that learners will require different lengths of time depending on their circumstances.

Assessment

There will be online tasks at the end of each module to test your knowledge and understanding. Where there is the requirement for reflective exercises, the trainers will provide written feedback in order to trigger the certificate of completion.
